Project is located on the Salmon River Ranger District, Idaho County, Idaho; proceed east of Riggins, Idaho (U.S. 95) along FDR 1614 to m.p. 23.5 at Wind River Trailhead. Project consists of the relocation of 2.5 miles of trail along the Salmon River Breaks, including an additional 0.5 miles reconstructed treadway. Project includes 41 switchbacks with rock and/or timber cribbing as well as clearing, excavation, and installation of belted waterbars. Work area is steep, rocking with light clearing. Machine limitations @ 34" maximum. Estimated start work is September 30, 1997. The estimated price range is between $100,000 and $200,000. (0197)
