The original CBD notice for this action was published May 24, 1996, and referenced solicitation DAAE30-96-R-0080 which was never issued. The proposed effort is for a modified non-developmental, rugged durable, light weight telescope with a 3-4x illuminated reticle and laser protection. Supplies and services to be furnished under this effort include 75 each XM145 Telescope w/attached rail grabber, operator manual and contractor support and training for developmental and operational testing. A rail grabber, the interface for telescope to weapon, will be provided by the contractor and delivered as part of the telescope unit. The contract will include four (4) single year production options for a possible total buy of up to 36,000 units. Award of at least one firm fixed priced contract is contemplated. Offerors are required to submit fifteen (15) bid samples with their proposals. Bid samples will be subjected to technical testing and evaluation. A security clearance of SECRET is required for performance ofthis effort. The unclassified portion of the solicitation for this action is only available electronically.
