R -- EDITORIAL SERVICES SOL RFQ-WO-97-11 DUE 081197 POC Brenda Powell 703-235-4374 Provide all services required to produce, in collaboration with the Forest Service, quarterly issues of Fire Management Notes, an international journal of approximately 28 pages serving the wildland fire community. Services will include, but is not limited to: soliciting articles; obtaining technical review; obtaining pertinent releases; collaboration with the Forest Service for content and design, editing, manuscript preparation, typing/scanning of manuscripts and reproducible copy; proofreading; establishing layout and format; keeping abreast of current issues; review of similar publications to identify potential writers, trends, subjects; working with writers to develop articles; maintenance of a data base with author and subject indices; ensuring relevant annual awards of the industry are reported within each issue; participating with the Forest Service in strategic planning for the magazine; and planning theme issues. This will be a one year contract, with one option for renewal. (0205)
