Sutherlin, Contracting Officer, (910)432-2146 This is a notice of intent to issue a Sole Source purchase order to Bay Networks, 1000 Technology Park, Billerica, Massachusetts 91821 for hardware and software maintenance of Eleven (11) Bay Network Model 5000N Interlinking Networking Communications' Hubs/Chassis with up to 14 Boards per each Hub/Chassis. The hardware maintenance will include "on-call" service and the software will include delivery of licensed (operating/executive systems) programs and updates. Software service will include the entire spectrum (multiple generation of Operating Systems-OS) system software and One (1) copy of user/operator' manual with telephonic referrals and trouble shooting. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. The Serial Numbers for the Eleven (11) Bay Network Model 5000N Interlinking Networking Communications' Hubs/Chassis are as follows: 1501424, 1501412, 1724242, 1501420, 1500495, 1501414, 1706852, 2954033, 1724184, 1706857, and 2973873. Maintenance isto be performed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Offerors who can furnish the required maintenance for the period of 1 October 1997 through 30 September 1998, may submit, in writing, a proposal substantiated by technical data, brochures,...etc. to include pricing (FOB Destination). all responses must be received within 15 calendar days of teh date of this CBD notice. No telephone requests will be accepted. Requests for solicitation will be considered non-responsive. All responses form responsible sources submitting the required information will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that the action may be competed with resulting award under the Simplied Acquisition Procedures.
