The Federal Emergency Management Agency is seeking bidders for the following project: Renovation of Building 205 at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Mount Weather Emergency Assistance Center, 19844 Blue Ridge Mountain Road (State Route 601), Bluemont, VA, Loudoun County. Contract work includes BASE BID -- modifications to the first floor and the basement. Work includes installation of doors, windows, incremental through-the-wall heating/air conditioning units, communications and power circuits, carpet, lights, and suspended ceilings; OPTION ONE -- installation of 40 windows on the second floor. OPTION TWO -- renovation of the second floor, to include installation of door locksets, HVAC units, communications, power, carpet, suspended ceilings, interior painting, receptac les, lighting, and fire protection systems. Prospective Contractors are required to possess a Virginia Class A license to submit a bid in response to the solicitation. A prebid conference and site visit will be scheduled, specific date/time to be identified in the solicitation. The period of performance will be 275 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. Magnitude of construction for this procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000. This procurement is being issued as a small business set-aside. A firm-fixed-price construction contract is anticipated to be awarded. This award is subject to the availability of funds.
