This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quotations (RFQ), number RFQ-97-092. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. The Bureau of the Public Debt intends to lease two (2) Memorex Telex 5491E 36-Track Tape Controllers for the period September 1, 1997, (or as soon as possible thereafter) through April 30, 1998. This solicitation is set-aside 100 percent for small business. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code is 7377; the small business size standard is $18.0 million. The contractor shall be responsible for delivery and installation at: Bureau of Public Debt, 200 Third Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101. The provision at 52.212-1, INSTRUCTIONS TO OFFERORS -- COMMERCIAL ITEMS (OCT 1995), applies to this acquisition; as addenda to 52.212-1, offerors shall specify a delivery date and should note that this solicitation will result in a single contract award. Award will be made to the responsive offer with the best combination of price and prompt delivery/installation. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, OFFEROR REPRESENTATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS -- COMMERICAL ITEMS (JAN 1997), with the offer.
