This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for Commercial Items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subparts 12.6 and 13.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation to be issued; Quotes are requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this Request for Quote is N00244-97-Q-A628 and closes on 9/5/97. This solicitation, incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 46. Schedule description: Item 0001: Lease of Commercial heavy duty washers and dryers, all are to be 10-16 pound capacity, including installation and full maintenance service in accordance with the statement of work, to be located at the Bachelors Quarters at the Naval Construction Battalion Center, Port Hueneme, CA 93043. The period of performance is for one (1) Base year, (Items 0001AA -0001AE), commencing October 01, 1997 -- September 30, 1998 and One (1) Option year, (Items 0003AA -- 0003AE), commencing October 01, 1998 -- September 30, 1999. Item 0001AA: Base year -- Lease of washers: 64 each x 12 months; Item 0001AB: Base year -- Lease of gas dryers: 18 each x 12 months; Item 0001AC: Base year -- Lease of electric dryers, 14 each x 12 months; Item 0001AD: Base year -- Lease of stackable gas dryers, 20 each x 12 months; Item 0001AE: Base year -- Lease of Combination Washers/Dryers, 16 each x 12 months; Item 0002: De-installation and removal of washers/dryers, 1 lot @ $__ ___. Payable at the end of the contract period. Item 0003AA: Option year one (1) -- Lease of washers: 64 each x 12 months; Item 0003AB: Option year one (1) -- Lease of gas dryers: 18 each x 12 months; Item 0003AC: Option year one (1) -- Lease of electric dryers, 14 each x 12 months); Item 0003AD: Option year one (1) -- Lease of stackable gas dryers, 20 each x 12 months; Item 0003AE: Option year one (1) -- Lease of Combination Washers/Dryers, 16 each x12 months. Statement of work: 1. The contractor shall provide 64 washers; 18 commercial gas dryers; 14 electric dryers; 20 commercial stack dryers, (one unit consists of 2 dryers); and 16 combination washer/dryers, (one unit consists of 1 washer, 1 dryer). These machines shall be delivered in good ready for use condition, and shall be connected by the contractor at the designated laundry rooms. The contractor shall send a company representative to assess and evaluate the location prior to installation. 2. All necessary space, utilities and outlets shall be provided by the government in an as is condition. 3. Only large capacity commercial type equipment of the make and quality generally used by the rental industry shall be installed. 4. The contractor shall provide all necessary repairs, preventative maintenance and parts as required. The contractor shall notify the requiring activity contract administrator or contractor's point of contact for reporting inoperable machines immediately upon award of contract.The company representative or maintenance personnel shall inform the Bachelor Housing Officer or its representative of all repairs and part replacements. 5. The contractor shall maintain an inventory or have readily available source from which to obtain parts to correct service failures. The contractor shall respond within two hours after notification of service call and machines shall be restored to operating condition within 24 hours. 6. Whenever a machine is not restored to operating condition within 24 hours after service failure notification is given by the government or the contractor's maintenance representative, a pro-rate of 1/30 for 24 hours period downtime shall be made from the monthly invoice. In the event a leased machine is not restored to operating condition within six hours, the government may direct the contractor to replace the inoperable machine with a working unit no older that the inoperable machine. 7. De-installation for removal of washers and dryers will only be payable at the end ofthe contract period after they are removed. *. The contractor shall provide additional washers and dryers when new facilities or additional requirements are needed, upon issuance of written modification from the Contracting Officer at FISC SD. 9. Washers and dryers may be replaced for, aesthetic reasons, if the government deems the washers and dryers do not promote/meet quality of life standards. Location of laundry rooms and number of machines per room will be provided upon award of the order. Presently there are 8 different laundry room locations.
