This unit will allow full remote operation of the Spitfire Enhanced Manpack UHF Terminal (EMUT) AN/PSC-5's, TRANSCEIVER (RT-1672/U(C)) excluding key fill and key update for up to 500 feet distance. The remote control, configured with its ancillary equipment, will utilize the same front panel, battery box and auxilliary equipment as the AN/PSC-5. Delivery of units will be made to Fort Monmouth, NJ. This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 13.106, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice.THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE SOLICITATION: a proposal is being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The Request for Proposal number assigned to this acquisition is DAAB07-97-R-A131. Solicitation requirements and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. This acquisition is a proposed sole source to Hughes Defense Communications, 1010 Production Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46806-4106, Cage Code 37695. The Government does not possess drawings for the equipment. The costs of obtaining these drawings would not justify the planned limited acquisition of these items. A delivery schedule of 4 months after receipt of order (ARO) is required. Delivery will be F. O. B. Destination to Fort Monmouth, NJ. Inspection and Acceptance will be at Destination.
