Laser Printer; On-Site Installation and Full User Training, The results
of cytogenetics testing are used for diagnosis and treatment of
patients, and to help elucidate the DNA lesions involved in both the
initiation and progression of cancer. The CytoVision system will be
used to perform three critical functions: First, the "gold standared"
in cytogenetics has been, and continues to be, high-resolution G-banded
karyotype analysis. Second; recent developments in fluorescence in-situ
hybridization(FISH) technology have made it possible to "see"
submicroscopic chromosomal changes in both actively-dividing (mitotic)
and resting (inerphase) cells and thus FISH technology is now a
standard component of state-of-the-art molecular cytogenetics
laboratories.Third, comparative genomic hybridization (CGH), which also
used FISH techniques, has very recently emerged as a powerful
technology for investigating gains and losses of chromosomal material
throughout the genome in tissue that has been fixed and/or stored. It
is the Government's belief that the Cyto Vision system provides the
highest resolution G-Banded Karyotypes. The CytoVision is also PC,
raither than MAC based, allowing for interfacing with other laboratory
systems which are PC based. This is not a request for quotes. Vendors
who believe they can meet the Governments requirement may submit their
qualifications/descriptive literature in writing and must contain
sufficient detail so that a determination can be made regarding meeting
the Governments requirements. The submission must be received by the
COB 09/10/97. No collect calls will be accepted. (0233) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0350 19970825\66-0010.SOL)
