CYCLINDER REFILL SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS. The cylinder refill system
(CRS) shall be capable of supplying Grade E breathable air for use with
self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). The CRS shall include an air
compressor, purification system, necessary safety shutdowns,
indicators, storage, air control panel, and fill enclosure. The entire
CRS shall be integrated into a single free standing unit. The fill
station portion of the unit shall be enclosed and designed to
completely contain the destructive force of rapidly expanding air in
the event of a cylinder rupture. The system shall be designed to be
completely operational from the front side. All operator controls shall
be located on or approximately at eye level. All routine maintenance
shall be performed without moving the unit. The purifier system shall
be located within its own compartment and shall be mounted on slide
rails that extend beyond the system framework for purifier service. All
electrical controls shall be arranged in a separate enclosure. The CRS
shall be factory assembled and tested to assure quality and
reliability. COMPRESSOR: The compressor block shall be four stage, air
cooled, pressure oil lubricated and rated for continuous duty at 6,000
psig with a charging rate of at least 21 CFM. PURIFICATION SYSTEM: The
purifier shall be rated to process compressed air with a working
pressure of 6,000 psig with a 4 to 1 safety factor. INSTRUMENTATION:
The unit shall include gages and lights necessary to indicate all
normal and shutdown conditions. AIR STORAGE SYSTEM: The breathing air
storage system shall be mounted in a vertical position located behind
the enclosed fill station. FILL STATION ENCLOSURE: The cylinder fill
enclosure shall be capable of providing grade E breathable air for use
with self contained breathing apparatus. AIR CONTROL SYSTEM: The
system shall include all necessary controls to assure efficient
operation and monitor compressor performance and operations. ELECTRIC
MOTOR: A NEMA Class B, 15 horsepower,480 volt, three phas, 60 hertx,
open drip proof motor shall be provided as the primary power plant.
ELECTRIC SERVICE: The electrical service shall be 480 volts, three
phase, 60 hertz. CARBON MONOXIDE AND MOISTURE MONITOR SYSTEMS: A system
to monitor CO and moisture shall be provided which can be separate
units or included in one unit. VENDOR RESPONSIBILIITES: The vendor will
be responsible for initial inspection and start up of the unit. Vendor
will be responsible for freight and shipping charges. Vendor will
provide one training session on operation of the compressor. A review
class may be held within one year from date of purchase at the option
of the buyer. Vendor will provide preventative maintenance visits at a
minimum of 6 and 12 months intervals for the first year. Vendor must
have a maintenance program available the the buyer at the buyer's
option may enter into at the conclusion of the first year maintenance
