The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase a Pharmacia AKTA Explorer System or equivilant and accessories by full and open competition. AKTA explorer is a new liquid chromatography system designed for quick development and optimization of purification methods for proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, and oligonucleotides. It incorporates many features that allow media screening, method scouting, method optimization and scaling experiments with minimum preparation time and maximum confidence in accuracy and reproducibility of the results. The equipment needed has specifications that must be met and are described in the Request for Quotation (RFQ) package. The NIDDK also requests a copy of the vendor's published price list and descriptive literature for the above items. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. All requests for quotations must be within the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000. It is anticipated that the RFQ package NIH-NIDDK-97-297 will be available (fifteen) days after the publication date of the synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due (ten) 10 days after the release of the RFQ package. The anticipated award date is September 22, 1997.
