Moore, Contract Specialist (202) 324-5287 This is a synopsis for commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), SubPart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #70298, the provisions & clauses incorporated as those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 90-46. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), FAR Part 13, to include the Test Program (13.6). This is an unrestricted procurement. This will be a firm-fixed-price, Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ), contract with one base year and four (4) option year periods. The FBI intends to negotiate, on a sole-source basis (under the authority of FAR Part 6.302), with Harris Corporation, 9086 Junction Dr., Annapolis, MD 20701, for 59 contract line items for radio frequency communications components. This is a sole-source contract due to the fact that only Harris equipment will fit into other Harris equipment. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency. Solicitation package issue date is 9/8/97 and proposals are due 9/23/97. Faxed requests for a RFQ will be accepted and may be faxed to (202) 324-8040/8031. Telephone requests will not be accepted. All proposals will be submitted to the address listed on line number seven or faxed to the previously listed fax number no later than 9/23/97, 4:30 p.m. EST. All offerors are hereby notified that if your proposal is not received by the date/time and at the location specified in this announcement, that it will be considered late/nonresponsive.
