Swanson, Contract Specialist, (615) 454-7841 This procurement is for data communications hardware and software for accessibility and to transfer information (voice and digital) between Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee, and Pax River, Maryland. Switches will be selected based on reliability, interfaces, flexibility, and interoperability with wide-area telecommunications facilities (including ATM, Ethernet, RS-232, V.35, and Frame Relay), and with compliant equipment from other vendors. Interfaces include modular construction with multiple (10 or more) serial data ports (synchronous and asynchronous format), Ethernet, DS-1, DS-3, OC-3 Multi mode, OC-3 Single mode, 2-wire station (voice), and 2-wire office (voice). Must support dynamic bandwidth allocation: T-1 (1.544Mbps), T-3 (44.7Mbps), and OC-3 (155Mbps). Future bandwidth: OC-12 (622Mbps) and OC-48 (2.4Gbps).
