SMALL BUSINESS IN THE SUNSHINE In furtherance of the Small Business and Small Disadvantaged Business program, Congressman Joe Scarborough; the Air Force Development Test Center, Eglin AFB FL; the Coastal Systems Station, Naval Surface Weapons Center, Panama City FL; the University of West Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce are co-sponsoring "Small Business in the Sunshine," a procurement opportunities conference for small, small disadvantaged, and women-owned business firms on Tuesday, October 28, 1997 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Sandestin Beach Hilton Hotel, Destin FL. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The objective of the conference is to create opportunities for the small business community through contracting with the Government and subcontracting with large prime contractors. Representatives from major defense and civilian federal agencies will be available to counsel small business firms on potential business opportunities at their agencies. There will also be representatives from major defense contractors in attendance to discuss potential subcontracting opportunities. State and local government buying agencies have also been invited to attend. Various training seminars will also be conducted concurrently with individual counseling.
