(402) 294-1288. The Greater Omaha Chapter of AFCEA (AFCEA is a private
organization, not affiliated with the US Government) will host a
symposium and exposition at the Officers Club, Offutt Air Force Base,
Nebraska, 22-24 September 1997. "Joint Vision -- Joint Venture" is the
theme for the symposium. A golf tournament will take place on 22
September. On 23 September topics to be presented include: a Joint
Staff briefing -- JV 2010 -- Attaining Information Superiority from a
Network Centric Perspective; and from USSTRATCOM/J2 -- Intelligence
Perspective, J5 -- War Planning Perspective, J3/J4 -- C2 Perspective,
J6 -- Support Strategy; AFGWC Future Directions, 55WG Mission Changes,
and 55CG Future Directions. Maj Gen John Hawley, ASC2A/CC, will be the
LuncheonKey Note Speaker, and Mr John Gilligan, SES-5, Air Force
Program Executive Officer for Battle Management (AFPEO/BA), will be the
Dinner Key Note Speaker During the morning of 24 September, agenda
items include USSTRATCOM briefings: J66 -- C4ISR Implementation
Strategy, J1 -- Outsourcing and Privatization, and J66 USSTRATCOM's
Future Contracting Plan. It is anticipated that the current status of
the proposed Computing Environment STRATCOM ARchitecture (CESAR)
contract will be briefed (See
http://www.stratcom.af.mil/cesar/cesar.htm). The symposium will allow
open exchange of ideas and the focus to aid industry in understanding
the current Joint Vision -- Joint Venture precepts of key commands on
Offutt AFB. The briefings are unclassified and open to all interested
firms. The government does not intend to award any contracts on the
basis of this forum. The symposium is for informational purposes only
and the government does not intend to pay any costs associated with the
symposium. Registration is required. Deadline is 19 Sep 97. Contact
