Bioenvironmental Engineering Flight (BEF) at Vandenberg Air Force Base,
California is soliciting for a laboratory certified to conduct
hazardous waste analysis on lead-based paint from renovation or
demolition projects in accordance with the State of California
Administrative Code, Title 22. Analytical results will be used to
determine appropriate disposal. SCOPE OF WORK: Solid, semi-solid and
liquid samples will be collected by Bioenvironmental Engineering
personnel and picked up by the laboratory. Sample containers and
preservatives will be provided by the laboratory. Specified analytical
parameters including a variety of organic and inorganic compounds will
be stipulated at the time of pick up from the laboratory. The necessary
turn around time will be specified at the time of pick up from the
laboratory. The number of samples submitted will be dependent on
operations at Vandenberg and are therefore variable. LABORATORY
PERFORMANCE AND REQUIREMENTS: 1. Laboratory must be within 25 miles of
Vandenberg main gate, or provide daily pick-up at Vandenberg AFB, as
needed. 2. Laboratory must provide 24, 48 and 72 hour analysis as well
as routine analysis dependent on USAF sample prioritization. 3.
Laboratory must provide analytical results to Bioenvironmental
Engineering Flight within the stipulated turn-around time by FAX.
Written results will be on company letterhead, be certified by the
chemist conducting the analysis and mailed to 30th Aerospace Medicine
Squadron. DETAILS OF ACQUISITION The period of performance for this
acquisition will be 01 October 1997 through 30 September 1998. This
acquisition is subject to the requirements of the Service Contract Act.
DOL Wage Determination for your locale will apply. This acquisition is
a 100% set-aside for small business. The standard industrial code
(SIC) is 8734, Testing Laboratories with a size standard of $5.0 M. All
responsible certified sources may submit their catalog price list for
