70 -- NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE SOLELY WITH TRIPLUS TECHNOLOGIES, LLC FOR THE PURCHASE OF WINSPACE 2.0, ALSO KNOWN AS E-DESK DUE 091597 POC Cynthia Spencer Tel: 410-965-3369 The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with TriPlus Technologies, LLC (TriPlus), 1231 Calle Cerrito Alto, Santa Barbara, California 93101 for the purchase of 11,000 copies of TriPlus' WinSpace 2.0, also known as e-Desk. Because there is a projected increase in the quantity of this software, a proposal for an enterprise license solicited from TriPlus with provisions for receipt of upgrades to the software, as they are developed by TriPlus, is requested. TriPlus was the only manufacturer identified that is able to provide the functionality required. This software will work under Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 with existing Cardex video display adapters to provide a virtual desktop display interface. This facility expands the size of the user's desktop beyond the capability of the monitor to physically display. The virtual desktop may be at least twice the size of the physical desktop and must allow navigation over the entire desktop using the mouse and the keypad. The software will alsoprovide the capability to display a "map" of the entire desktop to facilitate navigation to areas that are not visible. Therefore, TriPlus is considered to be a sole source for this requirement.
