It is intent of the National Library of Medicine to procure professional services on a sole source basis with Data Conversion Laboratory, 184-13 Horace Harding Expressway, Fresh Meadows, NY 11365 for the following services: 1) One-time set up fee for SGML Encoding -- (qty -- 1fee); 2) Encoding of text, reference, table, and special pages of data -- (qty-26ea). The period of performance will be 09/25/97 -- 09/24/98. Data Conversion Laboratory has SGML experts who are familiar with the full text search system (FTRS) requirements. Data Conversion Laboratory also has an automated cross-referencing system in place designed for supporting FTRS requirements based on previous experience. Data Conversion Laboratory is experienced with and has developed proprietary programs to automate the encoding of tabular data in the manner prescribed by the FTRS DTD requirements. Data Conversion Laboratory has sufficient personnel, experienced with SGML encoding documents for the Health Services Technology/Assessment Text (HSTAT) system, to provide the rapid conversion of text without being able to schedule the service in advance. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide professional service as specified and listed above. Responses should sufficiently demonstrate the firm's ability to meet the government's requirements. This is not a request for quotations, however all responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the National Library of Medicine.
