D -- ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF SPATIAL DATABASE MANAGEMENT/ACCESS SOFTWARE AND TERRAIN ANALYSIS SOFTWARE TO SUPPORT JOINT MAPPING TOOL KIT SOL NMA202-97-R-1034 POC Tamara J. Verdon, Contracting Officer, (301) 227-4244, fax (301) 227-2218 The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with Sterling Software, Rome, NY., for the analysis, design and integration of spatial database management/access software and terrain analysis software to support the development of the Joint Mapping Tool Kit (JMTK). This contract is a follow-on contract to extend the current capabilities of the existing Spatial Database and Analysis modules. Sterling Software was the contractor for the initial effort and was instrumental in the development of the Spatial Database and Analysis module. Sterling is the only contractor with the specialized expertise and JMTK development experience to ensure current development schedules are maintained. The estimated period of performance for this contract is 1 year. Authority for this sole source procurement is 10 USC 2304(d)(1)(B) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). Firms that recognize that they can perform the required services described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer, and provide supporting evidence to the Contracting Officer within fifteen (15) calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
