T -- PRINTING OF MEDICARE NEWSLETTERS POC Carlos Morales, Senior Buyer, (213) 741-6269. Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company (TOLIC) which currently is under contract with HCFA for Medicare Part B claims processing is seeking sources for the printing and distribution of the 1998 Medicare Newsletters. Delivery will be to Los Angeles with distribution mailed to the Southern California counties. Planned specifications and volumes are anticipated as follows: (1) There will be a minimum of 4 newsletters published with an additional option of 2 more issues, (2) 11" x 17" folds to 8-1/~2" x 11", cover is self mailer, (3) ink colors -- red (PMS 186U), and -- blue (PMS 280U), (4) Paper -- white 60# offset, (5) Binding -- Saddle stitch. Perforations on selected pages or 3 hole drill, each issue varies, (6) Quantity is approximately 30,000 each, (7) final (8-1/~2" x 11") page count of approximately 20 to maximum of 150 pages per newsletter, page count and quantity for each issue varies. Mail date of initial newsletter printing is March 2, 1998. Interested parties must respond no later than September 26, 1997 to obtain a copy of the detailed specifications and proposal criteria. Quotations must be submitted no later than October 10, 1997. Responses will be reviewed and evaluated 70% on cost and 30% on meeting the specific requests as detailed in specifications and proposal criteria.
