This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N68936-97-Q-3182 and is issued as a Request For Quote (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-37. This is a small business set aside. The SIC code is 2813 and the size standard is 1000. Item Number 0001, 40,000 LB Carbon Dioxide (solidified). Specifications for preservation/packaging are as follows: The carbon dioxide (solidified) shall be furnished in fifty-five (55) pound block cut into five (5) pound pieces and separated from adjacent pieces by wax paper. Each fifty-five (55) pound parcel shall be double wrapped in heavy craft paper. Each wrapping shall be secured and sealed with moisture resistant tape. Each double wrapped package shall be packed in non-returnable fiberboard shipping carton and sealed with moisture resistant tape. Each double wrapped and boxed package shall be placed in a second non-returnable fiberboard shipping carton. Period of performance is 1 Dec 1997 through 30 November, 1998. There will be a required delivery of approximately 385 LBs each Tuesday and 275 LBs each Thursday between 7:30 and 11:00 AM. Reduced or additional quantities will be called out to the vendor as required. Delivery is to Receiving Officer, NAWS China lake, CA FOB destination.
