materials, and a dry-dock facility to perform repairs in conjunction
with the transportation and operational testing of a Floating Caisson
located at the Wilson Lock facility, Tennessee River Mile 259.4. The
Floating Caisson is a large piece of equipment approximately 115' x 28'
x 10', weighing 270 tons that can be flooded by operating a series of
control valves. Contractor will be required to remove and replace
exterior surface coating, perform selective repairs to the interior
surface and recoat interior surface. Replace all air/hydraulic lines,
controls, valves, etc. as designed and specified. The structure of the
Floating Caisson requires some repairs, additional work and
coordinated effort with the Government on the testing of critical weld
joints. The location of the Floating Caisson is Tennessee River Mile
259.4, Wilson Lock, Florence, Alabama. Dry dock facility must be
located within 500 river miles from Florence, Alabama. Duration of work
is 180 days. Bid documents will be available on or about 15 October
