West, 907/753-2552/Contracting Officer, Corps of Engineers Description of Work: Project consists of modification and repairs to the existing diesel fuel storage facilities at Indian Mountain, Alaska. Indian Mountain is a long range radar site operated by the Air Force located approximately 120 miles northeast of Galena and 168 miles northwest of Fairbanks. The work includes the cleaning, inspecting and upgrading of the existing bulk fuel storage tanks, including dent repairs, level monitoring, leak detection, pressure relief, and high level shut off devices. The project also includes moving tanks to a new gravel pad adjacent to the industrial dome and field fabricate new containment skirts (self-diked tanks) and skids, replacement of 3000 feet of above grade single wall piping from the aircraft off loading station to the new tank farm incorporating flow control valves, and the replacement of 400 feet of piping from the tank farm to the generator day tank in the industrial dome. Also included is the cleaning and abandoning in place the 12,000 gallon buffer tankand the 15,000 gallon storage tank. Painting of all piping, tank dikes and tanks is required.
