sought by Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA, for a Commerical
Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Distribution System software package to support
Marine Corps distribution of Marine Corps owned assets. The COTS system
must provide receipt, receiving, issue, and inventory processes. All
processes must be capable of generating reports/forms, performing file
maintenance, performing quality control, providing serialized
tracking, and interfacing with current DOD systems. The system must
provide the following functions: process using more than one key
element; establish a due in fule, process receipts, validate receipt
against due in file, generate receipt acknowledgment, establish/
maintain a location file, and generate proposed stow locations;
reidentification of stock; issue process to generate DD1348-2 with bar
codes and shipping labels; stock deny (either partially or completely
when stock is not on hand in the requested condition code);
record/maintain 3 year history, issue in order of precedence and shelf
life code, suspend/track by condition code, perform storage/
rewarehousing functions, and perform care-in-store; create, process,
and record inventory request/counts; create/process adjustments;
perform location verification, surveys, audits and reconciliation;
perform physical inventory; suspend issues/receipts during inventory
process; and perform cancellations, follow-ups, and recounts. The
application software must: be Y2K compliant; process using various
medians, i.e. RF tag, optical scan card, 3D, linear bar code, and hand
held data collectors; be a mid tier client server; be network based;
be defense infrastructure/common operating environment compliant; have
security controlled by profiles and user ID; be capable of producing
labels, interfacing with other system software, processing change
monitoring and tracking, processing real time and batch mode,
communicating using either LAN/WAN or TCP/IP protocols, toggling
between interfaced systems, tracking movement from point to point, and
downloading/uploading from other systems; and have Graphical User
Interface. All responsible sources may respond to this synopsis and all
such responses will be fully considered by this agency. Sources should
provide literature that describes the capabilities of their system and
includes pricing information. No contract award will be made on the
basis of any respones to this notice because the sources sought
synopsis shall not be considered as a solicitation. No solicitation
