41 -- COMPRESSOR/CONDENSING UNITS FOR MARINE USE SOL DTCG40-98-B-50015 DUE 113097 POC Point of Contact -- Kelly Carney, Contract Specialist, (410) 762-6472; Nancy Dean, Contracting Officer, (410) 762-6461 Compressor/Condensing Unit, Seawater cooled with a refrigeration producing capacity of 1.65 tons, using refrigerant HFC-134A, suitable for marine use. Each unit shall include one (1) each semi-hermetic, electric motor driven, multiple cylinder, reciprocating compressor; one (1) each Refrigerant Receiver; (1) each Seawater Cooled Condenser; one (1) each Heat Exchanger; one (1) each Control Panel limit and safety controls; pressure and temperature instrumentation and all interconnecting piping and wiring. Unit will need to be disassembled to fit through marine doors with an opening of 26" X 66" and 6" radius corners. The assembled unit size shall not be larger than 40" width X 62" depth X 67" height. The unit shall consists of (1) Compressor, 1.65 tons, HFC-134A, semi-hermetic, 440 volts, 3 phase, 60 HZ, with isolators, automatic capacity reduction, crankcase oil heater; (2) Refrigerant Receiver, horizontal type, 120% capacity of system charge at 120 degree F; (3) Seawater Cooled Condenser, shell and tube type, HFC-134A, tubes 90-10 CUNI, zinc protection, shell seamless carbon steel, with removable bolt-on heads for maintenance. Heads to have NPT connections, double liquid drains on bottom, 105 degrees F condensing temperature and 90 degrees F seawater inlet temperature; (4) Heat Exchanger, capable to superheat the suction gas before entering the compressor and to subcool the liquid refrigerant to eliminate flashing in the liquid line; (5) Control Panel, electrical controls to operate system in manual or automatic modes, front cabinet mounted compressor refrigerant suction pressure gauge, front cabinet mounted compressor refrigerant discharge pressure gauge, front cabinet mounted fault indicating lights for the condensing unit to note compressor high refrigerant pressure cutout, condensate water failure, and compressor motor overload, high refrigerant pressure cutout, water failure switch for condeser to shut down the compressor in case of seawater supply failure, water regulating valve for condenser to control condenser seawater flow and pressure gauges and thermometers for seawater inlet and outlet of condenser; (6) Moisture Indicator which visually indicates the presence of a safe level of moisture in the refrigerant; (7) Compressor Relief Valve set to relieve excessive pressure and discharge back into the compressor suction; (8) Liquid Line Filter Dehydrator to permit replacement of cartridges without the need to cut refrigerant lines or undoing braced connection; (9) Solenoid Valve, liquid refrigerant line, for pump down, normally closed valve, interchangeable coil, 115 VAC, 1 phase, 60 HZ; (10) Rupture Disc for emergency relief valve; (11) Regulating Valve, saltwater application to provide correct flow thru condenser under all operating conditions, for seawater service; (12) Strainer, compatible with HFC-134A refrigerant; (13) Crankcase Oil Heater, 115 VAC, 1 phase, 60 HZ, to automatically de-energize upon compressor start-up. Quantity sixteen (16) each. Engineering drawings, Assembly drawings, Piping diagrams and Technical Manuals will also be required. It is intended to award a firm-fixed price contract. Delivery of materials shall be made within thirty (30) days after the date of contract award. Partial deliveries will be acceptable.
