D -- ACCESS TO THE INSTITUTE FOR SCIENCE INFORMATION (ISI) WEB OF SCIENCE DATABASE SOL NHLBI-RR-P-98-205 DUE 011798 POC Christopher Belt, Contract Specialist, 301-435-0358, Fax: 301-480-3345 NIH intends to procure on a sole source basis to the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), 3501 Market Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1904, for access to the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) Web of Science database. Specifically, the NIH requires access to the (ISI) Science Citation Index Expanded with Cited References and Available Author Abstracts. The contractor shall provide maintenance services in the form of periodic software updates and technical help support. The period of performance shall be for one twelve (12) month period, with options to renew for four (4) additional twelve (12) month periods. It is believed that (ISI) is the sole source for this requirement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 for the following: The Web of Science is a proprietary interface developed for exclusive use with the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) proprietary databases, in particular, the Science Citation Index Expanded with Cited References and Available Author Abstracts. Any competing firm that believes it is capable of providing the above requirement is invited to provide sufficient documentation to demonstrate that capability to the contract specialist.
