The principal features of the work include; (a) Cutting a pit into the existing concrete floor in the center of the elevator location; (b) Constructing 10" thick reinforced concrete walls to enclose the elevator shaft; (c) Furnishing and installing a steel swing door with steel jambs at the entrance to the elevator; (d) Furnishing and installing a guardrail around the perimeter of the concrete wall surrounding the elevator shaft opening; (e) Furnishing and installing a hydraulic type elevator and associated operational equipment; and (f) furnishing and installing all required electrical materials and equipment for the elevator installation. Award will be made pursuant to the "Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program." Contractors do not have to be a small business to submit an offer under this program. The price range of the work is between $50,000 and $500,000.
