This office is conducting a market research survey to determine there are sources available to satisfy the following requirement. Design and construct a terrain based model kit to use during a tactical level training exercise at Fort Polk, Louisiana, with a delivery date of March 1998. The componants are to include a terrain representation map, Military unit symbology Icons (magnetic) and a storage and transportation housing. Specific componants are as follows: (1) Terrain representation map. Accurately replicat a JRTC map. Grid squares shall be represented large enough for the users to observe topographical detail at a range of 25 feet. The colors shall be the five (5) common military map colors. The substrate used shall be able to withstand wear and tear of being walked on and must be water resistant. The map will be of 6 equal sizes totalling 15 feet by 30 feet and be able to be interlocked. (2) Military unit symbology icons (reference Field Manual 101-5-1): 1 inch by 1 inch square. Magnetic. Background color is blue for 20 Icons and red for 20 Icons. Total of 40 Icons. (3) Storage and transportation housing. Portable, easy to set-up (within one hour), breakdown and transport. Weight shall not exceed 25 pounds. Shall be able to open into a table like configuration in order to hold the terrain representation map for use. The surface under the map shall be magnetic. Shall be able to store the maps and icons. This is a small business set-aside. SIC 7389.
