After 1 October 1997, solicitations and amendments will only be available at the above Web sites. Hard copies WILL NOT be provided. Vendors should regularly access the NSWCDD Web site to ensure that they have downloaded all amendments. For solicitations issued after 31 March 1998, DOD will no longer award contracts to contractors not registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) data base. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, NSWCDD has a requirement for refurbishment of a tapered anechoic chamber at NSWCDD. The chamber is constructed within a single, shielded RF enclosure. The chamber is 98 feet long with a rectangular test volume of 27 feet by 27 feet by 30 feet. The cross-section of the chamber is tapered from a 27 foot by 27 foot square, to a 2-inch diameter circular opening 38-1/2 inches above the floor. The conical apex section is 22 feet with a conical to pyramidal transition 17 feet long. The included angle of the conical region is 22 degrees and the mechanical boresight slopes at 8.1 degrees to horizontal. The shielded enclosure is designed so that the apex is enclosed by a room 4 feet by 22 feet and an equipment pit 12 feet deep by 19 feet by 25 feet houses a Scientific-Atlanta model tower positioner and turntable. Lighting is provided by 6 each, 150 watt PAR floodlamps which are situated above the ceiling absorber in a wave guide beyond cutoff type enclosure. Contractor will be required to restore the chamber to it's original operating specifications. Site visit will be held. Refurbishment must be completed prior to 30 September 1998. A fixed price type contract is anticipated. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be released on or about 8 December 1997 with proposals due 32 days after release date. (0325)
