Gu Solicitation number N00421-97-R-1383: The Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) Support Equipment (SE) Division at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement for maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of equipment services covered under OMB Circular No. A-76, Commercial Activities Studies. These services are currently performed by the Government and a cost comparison will be conducted, under OMB Circular A-76, to determine the most cost effective mode of operation. An in-house cost estimate is being developed by the Government and a contract may or may not be awarded as a result of this process. If a contract award is made, the award will be in accordance with Part I, Chapter 3, Paragraph H of OMB Circular No. A-76. Specifically, the AIMD SE Division performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on support equipment used to support tenant and transient aircraft maintenance requirements. These duties include maintaining the equipment in a ready-for-use status, performing limited repairs to defects in the equipment and maintaining equipment in a preserved status when not in use for extended periods of time. The anticipated contract type is firm fixed price. The projected period of performance is a base year plus four option years.
