V -- V -- HELICOPTER SERVICES, ALASKA REGION SOL RFP R10-98-02 DUE 123197 POC Lisa Peterson or Eric Meyer, (907) 586-8880 The USDA Forest Service, Alaska Region requires approximtely two turbine helicopters for each of the three areas of the Tongass National Forest. Helicopter must be capable of hovering in ground effect (HIGE) at 4000 pressure altitude and 25 degrees C with a nonjettisonable payload of 675 pounds as determined by the Standard Interagency Load Method using actual pilot weight and fuel for one hour/30 minutes. Multiple awards are anticipated for this solicitation. Exclusive use is expected during during the availability period of approxmately April 1 through September 30. Contract period will be for one year. Evaluation factors for award will include personnel, equipment, facilities, maintenance, past performance, safety record, and prices. This acquisition will be processed under the Commercial Item procedures of FAR Part 12 using simplified acquisition procedures. Solicitation issue date December 5, 1997.
