Corporation (JE) is a prime contractor (NAS9-18800) to the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Johnson Space Center
(JSC), Houston, TX. JE is seeking prospective suppliers that possess
the proven capabilities to provide diffusion bonding of hydraulic
control valve bodies made from 6AL-4V Ti Alloy. The supplier must be
able to demonstrate expertise in diffusion bonding of Titanium alloys.
Current requirements are one bond of four (4) 13" W x 13" D x .25" H
plates. Future requirements are multiple bonds of four (4) plates up to
24" W x 24" D x .25 H. Parts are to be bonded using a vacuum hot press
approved per MIL-H-81200B. Bond at 1825 degrees F for 4 hours in a
vacuum condition of less than 1 X 10^-4 torr to a total strain of 1-3
percent of total part height (or 80 psi contact stress over bond area
for 2-2 hours). Interested companies are requested to submit a
Statement of Capabilities (SOC), which completely demonstrates the
capability to perform the diffusion bonding required including
facilities description, equipment list, and a published price list or
fully burdened rates within 10 calendar days of the publication date of
this notice. Include your business states (e.g., Small Disadvantaged or
Woman-owned Business, Small or Large). All firms submitting the
required documentation will be considered and any subsequent
solicitation will be issued to the sources that JE has determined to
have the best potential to successfully perform the specified work. JE
does not intend to pay for information received as a result of the
