The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) and the NIH
Intramural Sequencing Center (NISC) intend to negotiate with the
Amersham Life Science, Inc., company for a contract to supply reagents
for fluorescent-based automated DNA sequencing. These reagents include
ThermoSequenase and DYEnamic energy transfer (ET) primers. Amersham
owns the patent rights for both of these types of reagents. The
protocols being used for large-scale sequencing at NHGRI and NISC
require the use of these specific reagents. Authority: 41 U.S.C.
