The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Western Region, Menlo Park, CA, requires photo lab services to support the production of maps, charts, graphs, and other materials for inclusion in scientific publications. Contractor will provide: high-contrast negatives and positives on clear film, and positives on matte film, .004" and .007" thick; color photomechanical printing on matte (greenline) and opaque white film, and on yellow and red scribecoat; etch-process peelcoats; camera negatives and positives from .004" and .007" clear film; Diazo prints from positives, clear or matte film; large format Xerox copies on velum; and mylar overlays punched to precisely match greenlines, base maps or other overlays. The USGS intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Geo Cadd Reprographics, South San Francisco, CA, pursuant to FAR 6.301-1(a)(2). Geo Cadd Reprographics is the only known source capable of producing scribe coats and peelcoats, contact printing on film sizes to at least 42"x58", and camera negatives and positives of at least 42", which is located close enough to Menlo Park, California to pick up government-furnished materials and deliver finished products approximately once per week. Indefinite quantity contract, expected performance period 3/1/98 through 2/28/99 with two 12- month options to extend. Interested parties should respond in writing within 15 days of publication date of this notice to the contracting officer named above, stating clearly your capabilities to perform the foregoing.
