61 -- SILVER ZINC BATTERY SOL F42610-98-R-BBBBD POC For copy, Jack Albretsen/Lmka/[801]777-5793, For additional information contact Jack Albretsen/Lmka/[801]777-5793 This acquisition will be to procure 660 SE-13G batteries National Stock Number (NSN) 6135-00-819-8074AH, Part Number 7327690-10, Figure A 6210. This item is a remotely activated silver zinc battery which provides in-flight power to the Stage I Nozzle Control Unit in support of the Minuteman Weapon system. The original batteries were manufactured by Delco-Remy. This effort includes the following tasks: (1) Assemble tooling, provide test equipment, procure material and components, and review all drawings, specifications, and procedures required for battery manufacture. (2) Conduct technical interchange meeting to discuss possible process and material improvements to increase the battery service life. (3) Implement engineering changes as requested by the Government Engineer. (4) Qualify the production process by fabricating twenty qualification units. The units shall be tested in accordance with specification requirements. Ten units shall be tested at the contractors facility, and ten units shall be shipped to Crane Navel for verification testing. Test reports shall be submitted for each unit tested. (5) Each lot shall contain 11 units. One unit per lot shall be subjected to Lot Acceptance Testing at the manufactures facility. Lot Acceptance Testing shall be conducted in accordance with existing Plans and Procedures. (6) Fabricate and deliver to the Air Force a total of 660 batteries at the rate of one lot per month starting April 2000 through Sept 2005.
