These non-ceramic insulators are to be used as replacement parts on a 230 kV HV transmission line. The insulators shall have end figgings made of high-strength ductile iron, galvanized to resist corrosion, and pressed onto a fiberglass rod covered with continuous silicone rubber weather sheds. Corona rings shall be provided. Insulators must be able to withstand high pressure washing with water. Insulators shall meet the following minimum specifications: ITEM 001 -- (450 EACH) -- Insulator, Suspension, 86" long, polymer w/corona ring; Tower End Fitting -- Eye; Line End fitting -- Ball (ANSI 52-5); Corona Ring (Tower End) -- None; Corona Ring (Line end) -- 8 inches; Number of Sheds -- 47; Approximate Weight -- 24.2 lbs; Section Length -- 86 inchs; Shed Diameter -- 5.1 inches; Shed Spacing -- 1.2 inches; Dry Arc Distance -- 73 inches; Leakage Distance -- 256 inches; 60 Hz Dry Flash Over -- 711 kV; 60 Hz Wet Flash Over -- 615 kV; Impulse Positive Flash Over -- 1172 kV; Impulse Negative Flash Over -- 1235 kV; Specified Mechanical Load -- 25,000 lbs., Routine Test Load -- 12,500 lbs.
