D -- COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE CLINIC, MARINE CORPS BASE, QUANTICO, VIRGINIA SOL N62477-98-R-0001 DUE 122697 POC Tammey L. Crouse, (202) 685-3162 WEB: EFA Ches Home Page, http://www.usa.gov/procurement/index.html. E-MAIL: Tammey L. Crouse, Contract Specialist, EFA Chesapeake, tlcrouse@efaches.navfac/navy.mil. 22. The Engineering Field Activity Chesapeake intends to construct a new Comprehensive Health Care Clinic at the Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. Construction proposal documents require identification of secondary telecommunication switching and appurtenances which are compatible with the existing Marine Corps Base Telecommunication System. It is required that the proposed facility have internal communication features (nurse call, public address, radio paging, etc.) that are ideally facilitated by a secondary telephone switch, located within the proposed facility along with feature transparency (the ability to operate and maintain secondary telephone switches through the main basee telephone switch) in secondary switches. The existing telecommunication system at the base is a Dial Central Office (DCO) Northern Telecommunications (NORTEL) SL-100, Option BCS33 Base Switch, with base fiber optic connectivity through NORTEL FTM 150B Units. Compatibility must be maintained for any addition to the base system, in order to function properly. Written qualification statements establishing the capability to be compatible with the above system must be submitted within 15 days from the date this notice is published. In the absence of other qualifying sources, it is the intent of the Agency to identify a 640 Port NORTEL Model Meridian Cabinet Remote Unit (MCRU) and ancilliary appurtenances capable of interfacing with the existing Dial Central Office (DCO) Northern Telecommunications (NORTEL) SL-100, Option BCS33 Base; plus two NORTEL Model FTM 150B Units capable of interfacing with the existing Base fiber optic as the name brand product within the construction proposal documents, as no other type of equipment will satisfy the agency's minimum requirements.
