The Government intends to issue a solicitation for contractor supported AN/USC-28(V) and DSCS ECCM Control Subsystem (DECS) Field Maintenance Technician (FMT) site support and maintenance services. The FMTs will support site personnel which are required to maintain fielded AN/USC-28(V) Satellite Communications Sets deployed worldwide. Type of work to be performed includes, but is not limited to, performance of fault isolation, corrective action, and engineering support for Space Systems Division (SSD), Defense Information System Agency (DISA), and other agencies in the conduct of tests of the AN/USC-28(V) and DECS. The Contractor's Systems Engineering Staff will provide analytical support to FMT on-site problems and duplicate and suggest corrective action for system anomalies reported by FMTs. The Government does not possess Level III drawings for AN/USC-28(V)which would be usedd for in-depth troubleshooting and engineering analysis of system problems and anomalies. The respondent must provide level of effort and dollar estiamates to acquire a full understanding of the design of AN/USC-28(V) and DECS equipments. As part of the written response, a respondent must be able to prove to the Government that any kind of field problems that surfaces can be identified and corrected without the aid of detailed design drawings. A written response must include evidence of the respondent's ability to support the described equipment for a 12 month period beginning on or about 01 OCTOBER 1998.
