This is a special notice being issued by the Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), management and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) near Aiken, South Carolina. The purpose of this notice is to determine public interest in the possible licensing of a technology called "EES Dry Calorimeter". The "EES Dry Calorimeter" is an invention that achieves high accuracy in measurement of continuous power sources (such as radioactive sources). A zero heat transfer envelope is established around the measure sample with the exception of an accurately controlled heat removal path. Respondents will be provided with a technical brief and instructions for preparing and submitting a business plan, an integral element of the licensing process. Response to this notice must be received by December 31, 1997. Business plans must be submitted no later than January 31, 1998.
