D -- REVIEW OF EXISTING SOFTWARE DUE 010298 POC Lynn Carr-Hawkes, Sr. Contract Specialist, (202)942-3290 The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)is seeking sources and requesting information on existing software products that may meet or exceed FDIC's need for an asset inventory management system. The National Asset Inventory System (NAIS) is the backbone component of the FDIC Consolidated Asset Systems Modernization Project (CAMP). NAIS is a repository of asset information regarding all active FDIC assets currently being managed by servers and other entities external and internal to the FDIC plus the security kernel, data query and reporting utilities, and additional system infrastructure required to support the incorporation of other asset support systems and asset information during the incorporation of re-engineered FDIC asset management systems through future enhancements. The NAIS database includes 239 data fields that have been identified as requirements for this system. The front-end software will provide the user community with the ability to access the data in search, browse, and reportmode. The NAIS database must be compliant with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation standard workstation and existing hardware platforms. The workstations are Pentium 166 suitable for the Windows 95 or NT configuration. The preferred database platform is MS SQL Server 6.5 running on NT Server(s). The potential sources shall provide, but not limited to, the following information with their responses: (1) Describe functionality supported to included: database load/database update functions ("batch" or online), query/report capabilities (user knowledge/sophistication level requirements, maximum number of simultaneous ad hoc queries, maximum number of pre-canned reports and ability to save/reuse ad hoc queries (user libraries/system libraries), external interfaces supported (output/input), ability to add procedures (e.g., data validation procs)(cost impacts(if any)), other customization capabilities (cost impacts (if any)) and system access capablities/restrictions, (2) Describe the system architecture to include: client/server (two-tiered or three-tired) and other, (3) Describe database size supported to include: maximum number of data elements/largest number currently in use, maximum number of data "records"/largest number currently in use and maximum total amount of data storage supported/largest amount currently in use. (4) Describe Platform requirements to include: networked user access (WAN/LAN), hardware and software. (5) Describe type of documentation to include: user's manual, system administration/operation manual, training materials and other documentation. (6) Describe Training to include: user training (classes/cost, on-site or at specified facility and computer base instruction (CBI) available), system administrator/operator training (classes/cost, on-site or at specified facility and computer based instruction (CBI) available), (7) Describe Type of Maintenance/User Help Support to include: how are problems reported; resolved and how users obtain help in using the product, (8) Describe Install base to include: how many installation and the number of simultaneous users/total number of users per installation, (9) Provide pricing to include: basis and total cost/cost per user/site license/corporation-wide license (purchase cost, lease cost and maintenance fee/other fees),(10) Is Demo Copy available, if so, provide the associated costs, and (11) Is it available on GSA Schedule, if so please provide a copy of the schedule.
