Freeman, Contract Specialist, (760) 939-5427 or Winnie Renta, Procurement Analyst, (760) 939-4272 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA is seeking sources with experience in weapon Dispensing/Dispersing Technology to work with Navy designers to identify new dispensing/dispersing concepts for state-of-the-art weapons. No FY98 Government funding is available for acquisition related to this effort, but some is expected in FY99. These weapons require a dispenser that can be used in one mode for modest penetration of targets without dispensing sub munitions, or in the second mode to dispense 4 to 8 large sub munitions. Dispensing velocities desired at altitudes of 5k to 20k feet are 500 to 1000 fps for the near term.
