Booth, Contracting Officer, (202) 720-4955 The USDA, Economic Research
Service (ERS) is seeking a contractor to provide U.S. and
international economic data and have that data delivered/updated
electronically. The data need to be delivered to the ERS computer
system by a user-friendly delivery system that allows users to download
the data into Lotus, Excel, and E-Views applications. ERS requires the
data to be supplied as close as possible to the items becoming
available and that the vendor review data items for accuracy and
reasonableness before final release. For the U.S., ERS requires the
major components of GDP in current and constant dollars, GDP deflators
and growth rates, consumer and producer price indexes, and their
detailed components, international transactions, housing starts, value
of new construction put in place, plant and equipment expenditures,
industrial production, capacity utilization, manufacturers' shipments,
inventories and orders, money stock by board components and selected
interest rates. ERS also requires detail on the Conference Board's
indexes of consumer confidence, detail on labor market conditions, the
FRB's flow of funds accounts, and detail on business fixed investment.
On the international side, ERS requires monthly and annual data, for
most countries of the world (approximately 140) on exchange rates,
international liquidity, international banking, money and banking,
interest rates, prices, production, international transactions
(including the balance of payments), government finance, and national
accounts. The data needs to be presented by country, and for area
aggregates and world aggregates. The data series should be provided
beginning as early as possible in the post World War II era. Interested
parties should submit a written request with four self addressed
mailing labels to the Contracting Officer. Telephonic requests will not
be honored. This is a small business set-aside. Written quotations
(RFQs) will be used. The projected award date is the second quarter of
