S -- TRASH REMOVAL SERVICES SOL RFQ 158-0008-8 DUE 020698 POC Thomas Dufort, Contract Specialist, 717-547-1641, ext. 548 The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC), located at 150 Park Row in New York City, New York, requires trash removal services. The Contractor shall provide pick-up and delivery services for one Government-owned 35 yard capacity heavy duty industrial type trash compactor and one Contractor-provided 30 yard capacity open top trash container. The Government-owned compactor is situated outside and to the rear of the MCC building and is accessible via Pearl St. and Cardinal Hayes. The Contractor-provided trash container is to be located at an area adjacent to our warehouse facilities (Bush Terminal), 3rd Avenue and 31st Street in Brooklyn, New York or at our warehouse facilities (Building #4), Flushing Avenue and Waverly Street, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Brooklyn, New York. The Contractor shall pick-up and replace the Government-owned compactor twice weekly on Sundays and Thursdays between 12:01 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.. Additional special pick-ups may be required. Pick-up of the Contractor-provided trash container will be scheduled approximately once per month. It is estimated by the Government that one hundred four (104) pick-ups of the Government-owned compactor, and twelve (12) pick-ups of the Contractor-provided trash container will be required during the each contract period. The base period of performance shall begin on the date of award through a one-year period. Four additional one-year option periods may be exercised in accordance with the terms of the resulting contract. The estimated date of award is April 1998. These requirements will be solicited under Request For Quotations (RFQ) number 158-0008-8. The RFQ issue date is anticipated to be February 6, 1998.
