The Nevada Department of Human Resources, Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP), working with the federal Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), is soliciting proposals for a fiscal agent whose primary responsibility will be processing an estimated 1.5 million to 2.3 million Medicaid provider claims annually for an amount in excess of $400 million. In addition, the Contractor will be responsible for privider services/relations, third-party liability and subrogation payment recovery, prepayment medical and dental services review, special research as requested by DHCFP, document security storage and retrieval, cost reimbursement audits of providers, and conformance with Federal and State requirements for timeliness and accuracy in carrying out all duties specified in the contract. Data processing services are currently provided by the State Department of Human Resources through an agreement with the State Department of Information Technology. Except for Contractor needs regardinginternal management software or the development of software to facilitate remapping of the data elements of electronically submitted claims, no other software development is anticipated. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals for the operation of the existing system, with some changes, using existing software. The State does not intend to purchase or lease a proprietary software system, nor will such proposals be entertained. Bids are solicited with the intent to award a contract for these services on or about July 1, 1998. Requests for copies of the RFP must be made by January 27, 1998.
