This is a notice of intent to negotiate with Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd/Mata Division -- Military Aircraft Group, Ben Gurion International Airport, 70100, Israel for the installation of the Crashworthy/Passenger Troop seats on the CH-53D helicopters. A modification will be issued to IAI's existing contract for the installation of these seats for 46, CH-53D helicopters. The required installation will begin approximately in September 1998 in accordance with IAI's seat production/delivery schedule. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (in accordance with FAR 6.302-1) with IAI because they are the sole manufacturer of these seats for the CH-53D helicopters.
