Vandenburg AFB, California. The project will provide construction for
a new 6,200 SF single story facility. The new facility will replace
one sub-standard WWII vintage facility which is obsolete. The facility
will co-locate classroom training for small arms, weapon maintenance
shop, weapons cleaning area, secure weapons storage area,
administrative space, and the firing range. The project will include
reinforced concrete slab foundation, concrete masonry unit walls, steel
frame and roof, fire protection system, new access road, associated
interior/exterior utility and mechanical features, exterior features,
and all related features necessary to provide a complete and useable
facility for its intended use and demolition of the outdated facility
(Bldg 21300). This procurement will be conducted under SIC code: 1542.
The size standard for this SIC code is: $17,000,000.00. Large
businesses competing for this project must comply with the FAR 52.219-9
clause regarding the requirement for a subcontracting plan on the part
of the work it intends to subcontract. The recommended goals for
subcontracting are 55.0% for small business, 8.5% for small
disadvantaged business, and 3.0% for small business/woman-owned. A firm
that submits a plan with lesser goals must submit written rationale to
support goals submitted. Estimated cost is between $1,000,000.00 and

Hard copies of the plans and specifications will not be available.
Because a limited number of sets will be reproduced, copies are limited
to one set per firm. The cost of the CD-ROM is $25.00. Requests for the
CD-ROM must be ordered and check received in this office by the CUT OFF
DATE of February 11, 1998. Orders received beyond this date will not be
honored. CD-ROMs will be mailed out on or about February 18, 1998.
