The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, proposed procurement is to supply liquid oxygen for the Richard B. Russell Dam and Lake to meet 1998 calendar year requirements, with the option to extend the contract for two one-year periods. Prospective contractors must be capable of supplying approximately 8,000 tons of liquid oxygen for contract years 1998, 1999, and 2000. The period of the delivery in any contract year is estimated to begin not earlier than April and ending in December. A maximum rate of 200 tons per day is expected to occur for several weeks during late summer and early fall. The delivery site will accommodate 20-ton tanker trucks.
