This is a modification to a prior CBD Notice of 23 December 1997 issued as an unrestricted acquisition for dry wood termite treatment of Building 11, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida; Solicitation N68931-98-B-0060. This modification is to notify interested bidders/offerors that this acquisition uses brand name descriptions, peculiar to a manufacturer, thereby precluding consideration of a product manufactured by another company. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1(c), the brand name products specified in the work statement for the treatment of dry wood termites, Vikane and Bora-Care TM, are essential for the Government's requirements and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The manufacturer for Vikane is DOW Agricultural, 1515 Lenox Towers, 3400 Peachtree St., N.E., Atlanta, GA, 30326 and the manufacturer for Bora-Care TM is NISUS, Cherokee Place, 101 Concord St., N., Knoxville, TN, 37919. Numbered Note 22 is hereby incorporated. All other terms and conditions remain the same. The estimated date for release of subject solicitation is on or about 29 January 1998 and estimated date for receipt of bids as required by the solicitation is 16 March 1998. (0028)
