D -- DEFENSE SWITCHED NETWORK WORLDWIDE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES (DSN WMSS) POC Patricia R. Turner, (618) 229-9541 DESC: The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to issue a 6-month sole source extension, with two 3-month option periods, to the Defense Switched Network Worldwide Management Support Services (DSN WMSS) contract, DCA200-93-C-0009, a cost plus fixed fee contract. The contractor is GTE Government Systems, 15000 Conference Center Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151-3808. The purpose of the extension is to bridge the services between the existing contract and a competively awarded contract action presently in progress. The DSN WMSS contract provides technical and management support for DSN, Red Switch Network (RSN), and DSN Integrated Management Support System (DIMSS), both CONUS and OCONUS, in the development, acquisition, implementation and operation of DSN, RSN and DIMSS. The support consists of approximately 23 tasks and, in addition to those tasks being performed in the CONUS, includes the requirement for contractor personnel to be located at various OCONUS locations where tasks are being performed. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). This contract action continues services until the follow-on contract has been awarded and the requirements transitioned to that contract. See Numbered Note 22. (0029)
