Spence, Albert.A.Spence@lerc.nasa.gov. It is the intent of the NASA
Lewis Research Center to issue a Sole Source "New Work Modification"
under NASA Contract NAS3-27235 entitled Critical Propulsion Components
(CPC). This New Work Modification is for the High Speed Research (HSR)
Phase IIA Engine/Nozzle Technology Demonstrator (FENTD) Program.
NASA-Lewis Contract NAS3-27235 was awarded to the Industry Team
comprised of General Electric (GE) and Unitied Technologies Pratt &
Whitney (P&W) in June 1994. The objective of this New Work Modification
is to provide propulsion technology risk-reduction research beyond the
present HSR CPC Phase II efforts emphasizing selected full/part scale
components tests, materials application and full-scale engine/nozzle
technology demonstrator tests, necessary for a High Speed Civil
Transport (HSCT). This program will culminate in (1) full/part scale
compoent rig tests, (2) material property databases, lifing
validations, and processing technology demonstration, (3) full scale
engine/nozzle performance and operability tests, and (4) submittal of
test data and reports. This New Work activity is expected to span a
nine (9) year period of performance commencing on or about October 1,
1998 on a Cost-Reimbursement without Fee basis. All Small Businesses,
Small Disadvantaged Businesses and Women Owned Businesses interested in
participating in this activity, should contact the Industry Team of GE
and P&W providing their qualifications and areas of interest. An
Ombudsman has been appointed, See Internet Note "B". See Note 22. Any
